2024 Tuesday Night Race Series

This race series has been in held in Northwest Ohio since 1969.  We keep entry fees low and have 3 levels of racing (A, B, & C groups).   There are 17 races in this year’s series including Time Trials, Road Races, and Criteriums and an Omnium held at multiple venues across the region. We are a racing development club; our races are intended to provide experience for all levels of cyclists, from novice to pro.

Series events

  • All riders must either 1) have a valid and current (2023) USACycling license, or 2) purchase a 1-day license ($10).  License must be available for presentation at the race venue, either a paper copy or on your phone.  
  • Though registration can be done at the race site, we strongly encourage preregistration (see Registration for electronic payment info
  • Please fill out one-time series USAC Event Release found on Registration page and bring to your first race
  • Entry fee of $8 includes USAC Insurance, $15 for non-club-members
  • 1-Day USACycling licenses can be purchased 
  • Juniors (under 18) race for free! (select "invoice me" when registering online, race director will waive the fee during check-in
  • There will be cash prizes awarded at every road race and criterium
  • Results will be posted to USACycling
  • A, B , and C race categories 
  • If there are at least 3 kids (under 12 years of age) there will be a short "race" for kids under 12 immediately before each criterium.  Each participant will receive a finisher's medal

  • Each member is asked to work 3 events each season.  Working a race can include directing, flag safety at a corner, assisting with pre-race registration/check-in, pre-race course check, sweeping gravel from corners and assisting with calling race placings.  Worker credits are also offered for other tasks like being an executive board member, serving as the Rt 65 Trash Pick-Up Coordinator, working on a trash pick-up crew (usually 2 of these per season) or serving the club in other specialized tasks such as kit design or race results tracking and updating.  
  • Season Awards:  There is a season-long competition for each category.  End-of-season awards include:  Overall Club Champion (winner of the Club Championship road race), Wheelmen-of-the-Year (voted by membership) and Most Improved Racer (voted by membership).  The top 3 series scorer's in each group (A, B and C) will receive notoriety, the respect of their peers and prizes.  NOTE:  To be eligible for ANY of these highly sought after and hard-earned awards you must be a member in good standing with the club AND have earned at least 1 worker credit for the 2022 season.
  • All USA Cycling rules apply to all rides and races sponsored by the Maumee Valley Wheelmen
