The New Year's Day Breakfast Ride has been a long-standing Wheelmen tradition. This year's event was a bit different than those of past years. Instead of a typical road ride, the towpath served as the venue for the Club's first ride of the year. Breakfast was then hosted by The Thourot Family at a picnic shelter house at the boat launch parking area. The weather was unseasonably warm, and the rain held off until after the breakfast festivities. Matt, Jennifer and Dekker (but mostly Jennifer!) fixed a fine feast of pancakes and coffee for the after ride meal.
The group had a rather spirited ride down the trail to Grand Rapids, which followed by a more casual and conversational return trip. The pictures below are courtesy of Allen Kraus.
